CharityLetter2015After our generous donation from the 2015 Mayor’s Tournament, we received the attached letter thanking us for our help in helping to cure children with cancer.

Once again, I can’t thank everyone enough for the generosity and time in making the Tournament the success it has become.

Mayor’s Tourney Writes Another Big Check

Charity checks come in big packages

Charity checks come in big packages

Once again, The Mayor’s Tournament delivers.

The 2015 Mayor’s Tournament was a joyous event enjoyed by all that participated. It was the first time we had a shotgun, and by all accounts that was a major improvement. We all got to the nineteenth hole at the same time and filled the room with laughs and mockery of each others’ golf games. Yet again, the $5K putt was missed, but still a good time was had by all.

As fun as the day was, nothing feels better than to be able to present our charity of choice, Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center with the proceeds of the tournament. This year we were able to give out a big check for a  total of $1,950!

I do want to thank you all for your generosity and participation to make the event a success.

You have inspired me to make the 2016 tournament bigger and better than the ones that have come before. I’m actively working on getting more sponsors for the event. If you know of a business that would like to be part of our charity tournament, don’t hesitate to pass on my information.

Once again, thanks to all of you for making this a success.

Charity Golf Tournament Atlanta, GA

Once again, The Mayor’s Tournament delivers.

By all accounts the 2014 Mayor’s Tournament was the biggest and best yet. From the on the course fun, to the the nineteenth hole cheap beers, to the annual miss of the $5K putt, a good time was had by all.

However, nothing feels better than to be able to present our charity of choice, Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center with the proceeds of the tournament. This year we were able to give out a big check for a  total of $2,100! Look at that thing, I’m glad I don’t have to walk in the bank to cash it!

I do want to thank you all for your generosity and participation to make the event a success.

2014 Invitation for 13th Annual Mayor’s Tournament

March 16, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

Mayor's Tournament Invitation - 2014The 2014 Mayor’s Tournament selection committee is proud to announce that we have secured, yet again, the services of Cobblestone Golf Course for this year’s tournament. The groundskeepers are already at work getting the course ready for the championship caliber play this tournament brings.

The tournament will commence on June 14th beginning at 9:00 am. The cost is a pittance, at a mere $80, which includes golf, cart, practice balls, lunch and a chance at some fabulous prizes. Plus, you get a great swag bag just for coming.

RSVP by  June 1st.

Payment is easy, cold hard cash or paypal (you don’t need an account to pay). Dollars are already starting to trickle in. We’ve said if before so we’ll say it again…if you’re financially strapped, there’s no better way to pay than via paypal and your credit card. Why pay now for something you can write off in bankruptcy later?

Don’t forget, if you’d like to sponsor a hole it is only an additional $100. There’s no better way to get your business’ name in front of the heavy spenders that The Mayor’s Tournament attracts. Some attendees are known to hold down jobs for more than a year.

If you’d like to donate cash, gifts or prizes please contact Mayor Joe. Email him at mantineoj@bellsouth.net or talk to him live at 770.419.0008770.419.0008. Remember, all proceeds go to charity.

From all of us at TMT HQ, we’re looking forward to seeing you out there.

How to Lose $5K in One Easy Swing

June 27, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

In the fifth installment in our How To series, Steve Ventimiglia shows us how to lose $5,000 in one easy swing.

Note the great camera work by our resident audio visual team. Had the putt gone in, I’m not sure it would have been adequate proof to the insurance company. But rest assured, it was never a real possibility anyway.

New Champs Look a Lot Like the Old Champs

Deja vu all over again.

This year’s Mayor’s Tournament saw the repeat winning performance from the fearsome Askew threesome of  Spencer Askew, Kevin Askew, and father Jim Askew. They upgraded the fourth member of their squad by bringing along David Booth for this year’s tournament to put up an astounding 56.

The conditions were perfect as the sharpshooters in this year’s game went low. In total, four teams shot a 60 or below.

Even perennial losers, The Three Massaros and a Mantineo, exceeded expectations by coming within 25 shots of the winners by shooting an 80.

Closest to the pin winner was Mark Hoell, hitting his tee shot within 3 feet of the hole.

Longest drive went to Long Shlong Chris Curran.

Congratulations to the winners and losers. You know which group you belong to.
